A 13-year-old boy was taken into custody early Tuesday morning at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds on suspicion of burglary and vandalism.
The boy is suspected of breaking into vendor booths set up for the Kitsap Fair and Stampede, which opens Wednesday, according to a post on the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
Photos show lemonade and silverware scattered across booth areas.
“Kitsap County Sheriff’s deputies responding to a report of the burglaries found the 13-year-old asleep with a plush toy dog at a playground nearby,” the post said.
Authorities are still assessing the extent of the damage.
