‘No more blank checks’: Jake calls for accountability on WA’s expenses

Washington residents are growing increasingly frustrated with huge state budget overruns, including Sound Transit’s light rail project, which has soared from an initial $54 billion to $185 billion.
Jake Skorheim, co-host of “The Jake and Spike Show” on KIRO Newsradio, is offering a solution: Cap spending at twice the original budget. If costs exceed that threshold, the project must halt unless new funding is secured, and officials responsible for the overspending would face termination.
“No more blank checks,” Jake said. “It’s about making government responsible with taxpayer money.”
