‘That’s just nasty’: Gee disgusted by how many people aren’t washing their hands after the bathroom

A submission to “The Gee and Ursula Show” on KIRO Newsradio asked, “What’s the big deal about washing your hands after you use the restroom?” The commenter continued to state that she never washes their hands after using public restrooms.
KIRO host Gee Scott shamed people who skip the sink after using a public restroom, believing that, after the COVID-19 pandemic, more people are inclined to wash their hands after using public restrooms than ever before.
“I used to see people walk in and out of the bathroom without washing their hands. That’s just nasty. Then you get to the table, sit down, and shake hands with people,” Gee said. “I will say, now, more people are washing their hands today, post-pandemic, than before.”
Piggybacking off of Gee’s statement, KIRO producer Andrew Lanier shared his reasoning for why people may be forced into washing their hands in the bathroom.
“I’m going to make a sweeping statement, I think 50% of people don’t wash their hands when there’s no one else in the public bathroom with them,” Lanier said. “Most people in public bathrooms only wash their hands because somebody else is in there, and they’re worried about being judged if they don’t do it.”
