Two people were found dead Tuesday morning in a home in unincorporated Poulsbo.
The Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office determined that the two individuals were residents of the home, which was located in a secluded area of the city. The two people found dead were involved in a domestic violence incident.
“The scene is secure and there is no search for a suspect underway,” the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office stated. “There is no threat to the public.”
The two people found dead were a 53-year-old woman and a 55-year-old man, both dead from gunshot wounds.
“These are lovely homes, overlooking Hood Canal — very peaceful, kind of secluded — so it’s not something you see happening around here very often,” Kevin McCarty, a public information officer with the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office, told KIRO 7.
Due to a series of past burglaries and thefts that have targeted crime scenes published on the sheriff’s office’s social media, the department is not disclosing the specific street name or block number where the home is located.
More details are expected within the next couple of days, according to the sheriff’s office.
