Pierce County couple shot to death inside home; teen found hiding in closet

Pierce County deputies are investigating a double homicide after a couple was found dead in their home Thursday night.
Deputies were forced to break into the home after they were called to respond to a disturbance. Neighbors reported hearing several gunshots from within the home. Once the deputies entered, they found a 57-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman dead in a bedroom.
Both had gunshot wounds.
While searching the home, deputies found a 14-year-old girl hiding in a bedroom closet. She was not involved in the shooting and was released to family members.
Deputies are investigating what led up to the shooting.
“The preliminary investigation indicates we don’t believe there are any outstanding suspects, and the incident is contained to the home,” Pierce County Sheriff’s Office reported.
