Cougar Mountain Zoo has a brand-new pride! Three African lion cubs, two females and one male, have recently arrived from Tanganyika Wildlife Park, and they’re already stealing hearts.

At just two months old, the playful trio is full of curiosity, mischief, and personality, delighting visitors and zoo fans alike. The zoo shared their first glimpses on social media, and it’s clear these little lions are ready to explore their new home.

The cubs were hand-reared to give them the best start in life, ensuring proper nutrition, survival, and long-term well-being. Their care is a team effort between experts at both accredited facilities, showing how collaboration helps nurture young wildlife.

African lions, one of the world’s most iconic animals, have faced steep population declines—more than 40% in recent decades—due to habitat loss and conflicts with humans. By welcoming these cubs, Cougar Mountain Zoo hopes to inspire visitors to take action to protect lions in the wild and the ecosystems they rely on.

Visitors can meet the cubs in their nursery from Wednesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and watch these little bundles of fur grow into the kings and queens of Cougar Mountain Zoo.
