Scealta di Risotto

Tuscana Pizzeria Chennai

A city I started frequenting lately for business is Chennai and on my last trip there, one of my senior colleagues at work was kind enough to take me out to lunch at this place called Tuscana Pizzeria. This is a nice Italian joint located at Wallace Garden Road, Nungambakkam.

I love Italian cuisine. Whether it is the range of pastas or pizzas, gnocchis or breads, I love them all. What I enjoy most in the Italian cuisine is a well cooked Risotto. And when that well cooked risotto comes in the form of Grilled Madras Prawns tossed in Parsley Garlic Butter, you know you have a winner. At Tuscana Pizzeria, they call this dish Scealta di Risotto. After wiping it clean, I got the expression *Happy Belly*!

This is one place that I’d definitely go back to, to satisfy my risotto craving whenever I’m in Chennai. Bon Appetite! 🙂

Pan Seared Basa with Burghul Risotto

Pan Seared Basa with Burghul Risotto

Was in Mumbai for business this one time – so a good friend of mine Jacqueline [also my colleague at work & an avid foodie] decided to take me out to lunch. We wanted to go somewhere close-by and we zeroed in on two options at Bandra Kurla Complex – California Pizza Kitchen and Le Pain Quotidien.

Since I’d already been to CPK before, we decided to give Le Pain Quotidien a shot. Le Pain Quotidien which means ‘The Daily Bread’ is a bakery and restaurant that serves simple, elegant boulangerie fare made with organic ingredients. It has a nice ambiance which is typically filled with business folk who operate out of BKC in Mumbai.

Since I really enjoy seafood and one thing that I’m super fond of is risotto, I decided to order Pan Seared Basa with Burghul Risotto. The basa was cooked perfectly and the risotto complemented it really well. Add to it mushrooms, chilly and balsamic sauce and you have one happy belly! 🙂

Hello World!

November 14, 2013 by Aadil 4 Comments

Just the right amount of cheese, saffron and consistency - elements that make a risotto - Holy Kaw!

This is where the world famous butter chicken yearns to be written about. This is where the saffron infused creamy prawn risottos of La Italia crave to be spoken about. It is here then, where biryani’s elope, where them oh-so-gooey brownies scream for attention, where the most quintessential desserts cling on to.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Aadil’s blog; where food – fetishes.
