Long-Awaited Fixes Coming to I-5 and I-90/SR 18 This Fall

After years of planning, funding delays, and construction headaches, two major Washington highway projects are set to wrap up this fall.

I-5 in Marysville: The long-awaited northbound ramps at State Route 529 are expected to open, finally easing congestion and eliminating train delays for drivers east of the railroad tracks.

I-90/SR 18 Interchange: While the diverging diamond interchange opened earlier this summer, congestion continues until the widening of SR 18 is completed. Once the two lanes in each direction open later this fall, drivers should notice smoother trips through the corridor.
