The Seattle Police Department (SPD) is investigating a fatal shooting near the Northgate light rail station in Seattle Wednesday.
The shooting took place on N. Northgate Way just before 5 p.m. Wednesday. When police and fire personnel arrived at the scene, they found a man shot in the chest in the parking lot of a hotel. The victim was just 20 years old, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Gunfire and, of course, homicides are difficult things for us all to deal with. This has no place in our society,” SPD Detective Eric Munoz told KIRO Newsradio.
SPD is currently investigating what led to the shooting. No suspects have been arrested, as of this reporting.
“The circumstances leading up to the shooting are under investigation,” SPD Detective Eric Munoz said. “Our detectives are basically trying to figure out what happened and what led up to this shooting.”
