A fire broke out in an apartment complex in Kent early Friday morning, displacing five families.
The fire occurred at Waterbrook Apartments on 250th Place in Kent. Firefighters arrived at the scene at approximately 12:30 a.m. Friday, with heavy flames already sprouting out from the apartment building. The second and third floors were mostly affected.
Multiple units were destroyed by the fire.
“Firefighters extinguished the fire in approximately 90 minutes and are continuing to extinguish hotspots,” Puget Sound Fire reported on X. “The cause of the fire is under investigation.”

No injuries occurred, as of this reporting.
The Red Cross is on the scene, providing aid to displaced families and offering temporary accommodations for the time being. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
