Renton man arrested for sledgehammer robberies at two pawn shops, $350K stolen

A 29-year-old man accused of using a sledgehammer in two pawn shop robberies and stealing more than $350,000 in merchandise was arrested in Renton on Thursday.
The Renton Police Department arrested the suspect at his home in Renton, following his burglaries of two pawn shops in Renton and Shoreline, RPD announced.
Security camera footage within one of the pawn shops revealed two masked burglars entering the store and proceeding to smash multiple glass cases housing jewelry and other merchandise.

Later in the footage, a third suspect enters the pawn shop and bashes a glass case with a hammer.
RPD seized a loaded firearm, ammunition, methamphetamine, fentanyl, a scale, and $1,000 in cash during the Renton arrest.
No information was released regarding the other two suspects involved in the pawn shop burglaries.
RPD did not announce any charges for the 29-year-old male arrested at his Renton home.
