A possible tornado damaged four buildings, vehicles, and trees in Longview on Sunday.

The National Weather Service Portland stated, via Facebook, that the wind event may have been a tornado.

It is asking for any photos or videos that show clear signs of a rotation of a tornado in the 500 block of 14th Avenue.

Four commercial buildings were damaged, with one suffering a collapsed roof, the Longview Fire Department reported via Facebook.

“Damage assessments indicate that one building suffered a complete loss of its roof, with roofing materials and debris carried by the wind striking a nearby structure and causing severe damage to its roof,” the fire department wrote. “Two additional commercial buildings in the same block experienced light roof damage from the wind.”

The fire department posted a video of the wind event, showing a building’s roof being torn off.

Cowlitz County PUD is surveying the electrical service to the area, including potentially damaged poles or utility lines.

Despite the buildings being occupied at the time, no injuries have been reported.
